What happens in a Reiki session?

You are invited to lie down on a padded massage table, fully clothed, under a light sheet; or you may sit in a chair instead if you prefer.  The Reiki practitioner gently lays his or her hands on your body (or sometimes floats the hands just slightly above your body) at specific locations for varying lengths of time.

You can listen to soft, relaxing music and/or enjoy incense or scented candles at your request.

Clients often feel deep relaxation and pleasant sensations of heat or the movement of energy within their bodies.  Sometimes people fall asleep during treatments, or they might feel in some way that they are letting go of something during a session.  You may be aware of the Reiki practitioner as simply an affirming presence as you rest and receive Reiki.

Some people prefer to remain silently immersed in the experience, and others like to talk about what they are feeling.

Sessions can be of any length from 15 minutes to an hour.

You can also request "distance Reiki", in which case you do not need to be physically present to receive Reiki.    Please contact me for further information.
